It only makes sense that a coin that "rare" would end up in Bloomington, IL from a seller with a feedback of 38.

I don't get paid until March 18 though so can anyone loan me $950,000? I'm good for it - honest.

is it even a real coin? and is it realy real gold? i bet that is a misplaced decimal, and he really meant to sell it as $9.50

So this is the world's oldest coin... but he has at least two of them!

So what, the next auction will be for The World's SECOND Oldest Coin?!

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that he won't get any bids at $950,000 starting bid.

Ya gotta admit... auctions like this don't come around every day.

    Just once every 4,000 years.

Sure it's $950,000.00, but don't forget the $10 back with a new eBay MasterCard!

There seems to be developing a small group of guerrilla auctioneers. Their objective is to show, through their use in outrageous auctions, methods, tricks, and tools used by deceivers in scam offerings. I don't know if it will be very effective but is sure is fun.

At this point I don't think I could be shocked by what anyone, buyer or seller, would or could do on ebay.

There's a fool born every minute... but at the world's present population and from what I've seen lately there's an idiot born every .001 seconds.

I hate it when I'm away from CoinTalk for a few days .. I missed this auction and didn't get a chance to bid. (For anyone who thinks I'm serious - I don't know which emoticon to use for sarcasm).

Hey guys, this coin has popped up again...you know...the oldest coin in the world? I wish I had saved out the images from this listing as, if I remember correctly, there was some complicated explination of what the coin was supposed to be...all crap of course.

There is a guy on another forum with this coin...says he has had it for 15 years and although experts have examined it and cannot tell him what it is...they assure him its genuine :):

    http://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=60341.msg376030#msg376030

Its the same coin (coin type) as was being sold at the link given by the OP here....did anyone happen to save out the image used on this listing?
