found this rare nebraska state quarter error the other day, does anyone have any idea about what processes produced this "one of a kind" quarter?

    what would the value be?

Looks like a post mint creation to me!! welcome to the forum! As far as rare, yes it may be rare as far as an error, no I don't think so!! It may be worth a few dollars on ebay but you'd have to find that out. Nice creation, but it's probly only worth a quarter and 2 cents. just my 2 cnts!

It looks very similar to this cent I found. It came out of a mint set and it was determined it was damaged during the sealing process.

Thanks 4 ur input, but look at picture a little harder. I've taken coin to ANA members coin store who told me the error on the coin was produced at the mint. That the indents were done with pressure when the coin had a collar around it while being pressed. But he stopped to say what caused the stuck through die error damage because he wasnt FAMILIAR with any other coin he had ever seen with similar error. If you notice the profile picture i provided the side of coin has no damage to it aka "perfect" if the coin was mutilated after the mint released the coin into circulation the side would show metal pushed out on the rim of coin unlike my coin which has no metal pushed out on side. There for the ANA member coin dealer concluded that the indents or struck through die error had to accured dearing the minting processes when the colar was secure around the coin during mintage. I believe it is classified as Struck Through Slivers of Reeding. Anyone with knoweldge of particular error please comment on rarity and value thanx KOBAlT

Definitely a struck through error, I had the same error on one of my 1922 mercury dimes. Great find! congrats on the huge hit!!! Looks to me in MS65+ condition too..........Enjoy all the money you are about to get for that bad boy!!!

Probably a file job. By the way, anyone can join the ANA, its does not make you an expert.

This isn't the first time someone has asked for help here and didn't like the answers received. If you want to sell your "rare coin", put it on SleazeBay. There are plenty of Bidiots there.

I'd give him 25c for it, but he would have to pay the shipping.

Well, if it's "one of a kind" then nobody would have knowledge of it's rarity and value, would they? It's a simple press job done with a small flatiron and a crimp vice. We used to make them all the time in high school, but a lot fancier.

Why are you people being so rude to this man who is just asking a simple question. Anyone who finds a coin is only hoping and praying that it could be of at least SOME value..but it just seems like all you people on here do is make someone who asks for your advice, feel like an idiot for thinking that their find is just trash. I understand that you all may know a lot more than myself and others about coins and what not...but I wish that experts didn't have to make newbies feel like they are stupid for even asking. Keep it civil BOYS. Thanks and God Bless
