    Hi all,

I picked up a fantastic collection of Kennedy half dollars at an estate auction a while back. I finally had some time to get to reviewing them.

    I found a neat die rotation coin - it's a 1966 SMS Kennedy half.

Anyone seen this before? See the rotational reference - all heads are straight up in the book, see the last picture and you'll see it's rotated about 45 degrees.

Rather cool, but it mucks up the look of the album page. :)

Near as I can tell, rotated dies aren't very common with Kennedys. I did find a Registry set of Kennedy errors which had the same rotation on its' 1965 SMS.

1966 SMS Kennedy half dollar with about a 45 degree rotation is common, Also the 1965 SMS Kennedy half dollar has a rotated die that is all over the place probably caused by a loose die.

Cool find! While it might not be a major rarity, it is still unusual.

    Booyah!!!

I was hoping for a 67, but there's enough chatter on it to keep it out of the range.

I'm happy though! These are rare birds in SMS!
