I am a flight attendant and so I get to go to a lot of places, and when I can, I hit local banks to see what I might find. I have been asking for 2009 coinage as of late, but I am sure you all know the answers I get to that one. I was in LA yesterday and after asking about the 2009 stuff (the tellers have been nice and helpful for the most part), I asked if they had any halves. Turned out they did...2 rolls, so I bought them. The first roll, a rewrap, had the usual ho hum circulated clad stuff. The second roll was bank wrapped with only "half dollars" on it. It was Heads/tails and each end was a Bicentennial half. Could it be? I tore the wrapper just enough to reveal the edges inside...yep, a bank wrapped roll of 33 year old uncirculated Bicentenial half dollars. I thought, wow, that doesn't happen too often! Just thought I would share. Thanks.
Great find, Toyz! :thumb: You can resell the whole roll on Ebay and use the money to buy something else, unless you'd prefer to keep the roll. Ribbit
Its too bad you opened the roll, people collect unopened bank rolls and they command a premium if unopened.
I would carefully open the roll and sell them one at a time. As already mentioned, a slighlty opened roll does you no good.
That's great, what's the condition of the coins? i.e. are they heavily scuffed or free of blemishes and fully lustrous?
