Looking through some more of my wheaties I found this 1946 reverse error. I think it is rather neat. The coin has

I was thinking maybe it was a faulty planchet when it was struck since the letters are still in the indented area.
I agree, but I only had the mint made idea because: 1) The obverse looks okay. 2) the letters in the reverse are not damaged within the questionable area.
IMHO, since so much of the design elements (in this case, the lettering) are intact, I would have to say that is is a severe lamination separation! Frank
