I got this Nazi Third Reich 1935 Silver Hindenberg Coin for $3 at a flea market. Did i get a good deal, can i sell it for more. Ehh, Its still a cool coin. -James
Depends on the grade of the coin and to a lesser extent the mintmark. Mintmarks A, D, F, G and J list for $3 in the grade of FINE. Mintmark E starts at $4. A grade of VERY FINE raises the value to $6 for the first 5 mintmarks and $6.50 for J. EXTREMELY FINE lists $10 for A, D and F and $12.50 for E, G and J. There is 0.4016oz silver in your coin worth $2.8112 with silver selling at $7 oz.
Not sure on this coin. Check on the obverse behind Hindenburg's head, next to and below the date. It won't be very big.
There are three different Hindenburg coins, but they all have the mint mark at the same position. The one dated 1935 is the 5 RM piece without swastika. Next to the birth year (1847) there should be an A (Berlin mint, which back then had the largest production share) or D (Munich), E (Muldenhütten), F (Stuttgart), G (Karlsruhe), J (Hamburg). The latter two have the smallest mintage in this case. Christian
Anything with that amount of history for a price similar to that (at least to me it seems) is worth buying. Plus only 3$-even if it is only worth that much-is still a good deal. I would have to say 'good buy'. And you're right-it is a cool coin. Bill
