Where is it possible to get these from a regular bank? I have called over 15 banks to try to get these and all have told me that they cannot order them, yet people keep telling me they are still being minted for circulation.

It's like Christmas every time I get one in change. Great question. My credit union says the same thing.

Well, if you open up a standard roll of quarters, you're likely to get a couple, but all my full rolls come from the bank randomly (sometimes, rolls just happen to be the ATB quarters). The roll searchers would know more about this then I do.

I hardly ever see them in quarter rolls, and I work in retail and open the rolls myself. I have only ever found one, which was a 2012 Acadia quarter.

The company I work for has snack and soda machines, those machines will take bills if those bills are pristine perfect bills, so I usually buy a roll of quarters each week for the snack machines.

Out of ten rolls, on AVERAGE I am seeing 0 silver, 1 or two atb quarters, 3 or 4 bicentennial drummer boy quarters, and the rest of the quarters are pretty even between the state quarters and the regular eagle reverse. The last silver quarter I got was at the self serve car wash a few months back.

The banks can order quarters, but they CAN NOT specifically order ATB quarters, or the latest issue. When they order quarters they get whatever the Fed/Amored car service happens to have on hand, circulated first then Uncirculated, oldest first. So the only way the bank is going to get the ATB coins is if when their order comes in the Fed/Armored car service is all out of circulated coins and MS state coins. Fo this reason the ATB coins have been very slow in getting out. With the state quarters the banks had a four week window for each new issue where they could specifically order the new quarters. The Fed shut that down at the end of 2009.

    This is correct.

I got two boxes of 2012 nickels today, which disappointed me. But it just means they don't have a stock of circulated stuff right now.

OP, are you getting a box of quarters or more every week? In my area, it seems the full boxes of new coin seem to hit the banks I order from in the Fall each year. I don't do quarters, but it'd be the same with any denomination that gets used a lot, I assume.

Just to add on to what Conder said, you also have to factor in the relatively low mintages of the park quarters. Compared to the last year of the state quarters, the mintages of the ATB's in '10 and '11 are at about 15% of the state quarters. This is also why you don't see much of the territory quarters from '09.

I searched $80 machine wrapped from the local bank yesterday. I got my first Hawaii Volcanoes!

The ATBs show up once in a while - not a whole roll though...

Ok this may sound strange, but although I haven't seen an entire new roll, I do get lose ATB's all of the time in my change from a variety of stores. I save them all and make my own mixed rolls. Maybe it's just a California thing, which kinda makes sense due to all anyone has out here is change! Are you saying there may actually be a market for these home rolls?

i rarely see any in my part of the universe. been putting ATB's back as i run across them. 3 years in and probably at 7 bucks worth.
    there probably is a market

Been 2 years since they came out and have yet to see a single one in circulation. There's billions of older quarters so I guess it just depends where you are as to how often you see them. Living so close to the Denver Mint I usually see new coins pretty quickly but I've yet to see a quarter in circulation more recently than 2009 (saw an American Samoa quarter not too long ago).

Banks can order these but it depends where they get their quarters from as to whether or not they'll end up with full rolls of them or just mixed in with everything else.

I got a Gettysburg the other day and a Yellowstone in 2011. It is my assumption that they release one a year:)

sure just walk right in and ask for them (joking). It is very hard to get ANY bu rolls at a bank. They DESPISE coin collectors- they have a deep visceral hatred of us.

here is my trick to getting bu rolls (I am giving away my secret here). I ask for three boxes of quarters- they go back to the vault and get them (they hate doing this- really hate it). I look through the holes in the top of the boxes and take only the ones that are new. If none are new I say no thanks. That is the only way I have found to do it- ALL banks are very rude even hateful to coin collectors so do not feel bad about about doing it.

I haven't gotten a full roll of ATB's yet either. Although I do get an average of 3 a week from the vending machine at work. All in all 've probably gotten around 20 or so in circulation. I got a Dansco for the ATB's and just buy what I need from the mint. I am fortunate at my bank, the tellers take the time out to grab me any coin I am looking for. ( I even had the head teller put aside around $200.00 in 1950 series $10.00 notes. I pick up a few each time I go in.)

Banks are not rude and hateful to ALL coin collectors, only to rude and inconsiderate coin collectors.

My bank tellers can't wait to take care of any of my needs and wants. Every time I visit, about three times in a two week period, I bring a little something to make their coffee breaks a little better. Some cookies or little cakes. They appreciate my generosity and repay it in kind.

Do you bring them homemade cookies/cakes or store bought? I'm planning on doing this, and I'm thinking because they don't really know me or know what my kitchen looks like they'd toss the generous gifts I bring them, so I'm leaning towards going to a bakery.

I bring them a 2lb. box of See's Candy around Christmas, which seems to keep them happy. They put it out for all, because an individual teller cannot accept gifts.

Store bought. I'm not at all domestic.
