Hello All. I have the following two pieces of National Currency I am looking to get some information on. Any help is greatly appreciated and any discussion is encouraged. Thank You. NOTE #1: Cloverdale, IN - Charter #10465 - 1929 Type I Small Size $10 NOTE #2: Coatesville, IN - Charter #8447 - 1929 Type II Small Size $10 Now for some photos: NOTE #1 NOTE #2 Thank You.
Two nice notes....low numbers, I am not by any means an expert on paper,so I'll wait to see what others reply. I do know these are very popular.
Interesting small size, small bank Nationals. Both can be researched here for free. http://www.antiquemoney.com/national-bank-notes/indiana/ Additional census information is available with a paid subscription to the National Bank Note Census. https://nbncensus.com/
@SteveInTampa Thank you for the information. For everyone, here is some information I found on the above notes. NOTE #1: Cloverdale, IN - Charter #10465 - 1929 Type I Small Size $10 According to antiquemoney.com, the FNB of Cloverdale, IN printed 186 sheets of Type I 1929 $10 notes. Antiquemoney.com says that is an extremely small sheet printing number. Track & Price shows 0 known examples of this piece and shows values between $3,200 in VG to $12,000 in CU60. With no known examples, there are no auction results for this piece. NOTE #2: Coatesville, IN - Charter #8447 - 1929 Type II Small Size $10 According to antiquemoney.com, the FNB of Coatesville, IN printed 1,395 individual notes of Type II 1929 $10 notes. When referring to Track & Price there is no category for 1929 Type II $10 notes (???). As before, no auction results are shown for this piece (several for Type I though, but Type I has a printing of 1,034 sheets). I am planning to have both of these notes sent to PMG for grading. Does anyone have any information on estimated values they believe these two notes could be worth? Any information is greatly appreciated and any discussion is encouraged. Thank You.
They're worth what two collectors in an auction think they're worth. Rarity doesn't equal price. Few collectors, low price.
