Nasty spotted PL Morgan

    Is this beyond gradable? I find it odd that the spots seem to be under the lettering which would make me assume it was on the planchet before striking or is that incorrect?

    Actually never mind that would make no sense about the planchet..but still a question about how it will affect grade. It's a 1901 O PL

    I wouldn't buy it. That's all I can say for sure. I would not be surprised if those spots rendered it ungradeable.

    Ya they're pretty nasty. Dirty shame because it's clean as a whistle other than the spots. Thank you

    It's through a good seller so I'd rather not put him on blast for an otherwise great coin.

    Could be carbon.spots which are permanent

    Unrinsed dip residue caused the coin to spot. Those aren't coming off. Pass.
