NASA coin questiom

Hello everyone. Alittle new to coin collection and I have a question. I have a collection of Nasa coins. I have one set is in a cardboard rocket ship holder. They are of Apollo and they are silver the other set is in a plastic holder with the words Apollo Crew emblems by Galaxy.I think they are bronze.

They are probably privately minted tokens and not coins. Space flight is a huge interest of mine and I don't know of any actual coins that depict the Apollo spacecraft.

If you could post a pic, maybe someone could provide you with more information.

 

nasa is coming out with coins this year i think. luckily for me one of my dear friends on CT is looking to give me a present

 

I believe that was postponed until 2009.

The look to me like they are bronze tokens of some kind minted by a private mint to commemorate the Apollo program. They have no value to a "coin collector" but do to someone who has an interest in space flight. I doubt you will be able to find much information here because they aren't coins. I personally think they are neat (I'm fascinated by the space program) but really can't give you any information.

Off topic but....hey Rickie, if it wasn't for the Oregon Ducks logo, I wouldn't o' known it was you. You guys goin' to the Rose Bowl? My boys are.

 

Nah, we're not going to the Rose Bowl this year. We are heading to the Holiday Bowl to play Oklahoma State on Dec. 30th. But, the Rose Bowl is my favorite college game of the year and I will be watching...and rooting for Penn State, I don't like USC.

Yeah, Peter changed my username for me. There's a thread in the general discussion about it (a link in my sig too)...but basically it had to do with people getting me and RickieB confused.

 

I like the new handle....suits you just fine.
