As described in the title, these are all the letters that I can see on the front of the coin, I'm guessng the other letters connecting Emp comes out to emperor. On the front is a man who's head is facing left if your looking at it. Turn it over, theirs an eagle facing right if your looking at it. Its about the size of a half dollar, possibly bronze or copper, not really sure. A buddy told me to post here he thought it could be something, but wouldn't tell me. The coin also looks like it was made from hand, and not machine. When I showed my buddy the coin, he kind of muttered under his breath that he had never seen a coin like this. Any help is greatly appreciated, I'll try and upload some images. Coin is also kind of worn down.
Hello, Your coin is probably a 10 centimes from Napoleon III who ruled France as Emperor from AD 1852 to 1870. Some of them have been "tooled" as a mockery against the ruler who has not been able to win against prussians... Hope it helps, but I agree, a pic would help Cucumbor
Will probably look like this ... http://www.cgb.fr/monnaies/modernes/m12/gb/monnaiesgb6169.html ... or maybe this one. http://www.cgb.fr/monnaies/modernes/m12/gb/monnaiesgb70d3.html Of course the year, mintmark and even denomination could be different. And if it's worn, the possible value (if one wants to sell it) may even be close to zero ... Christian
