    Hi,

My old man found the coin above the other day, I've googled as you do but not really found much on it. Most coins i've seen (please feel free to correct me if im wrong) both sides of the coin are the same way up, but strangly this one, the eagle thats on the opposing side is the other way up, and i was just wondering if this "uniqueness" (if it is ofcourse) would add any value to it?

Any feed back would be much appreciated.

Quite the opposite. Most coins have the reverse upside down. There are a few that do have a Medal Alignment where both sides are right side up. This is so when the medal is hung from a ribbon, both sides are right side up.

I have one of those coins also...it's an 1856, with a W under the eagle on the reverse... Very cool coin.
