Just got back from the show which was held in the Ernst Community Center on the campus of Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale,Va. It was pretty big, looks like it was in the basketball court with 70 tables,a lot of U.S. coins and currency but also several tables of mixed foreign and ancients so I was in heaven.I picked up a few Roman and one Greek that were reasonably priced. I found that most of the dealers were very nice and willing to deal, due in part to the fact that there were a lot more dealers than shoppers on Sunday.....BUT..there are just some things that nobody can afford.I found a great guy selling mostly 18-19th century U.S. and he kindly allowed me to take photos for you guys of a couple. He even pulled them out of his showcase to get better shots...feast your eyes my friends! I'll be interested to see how vroomer,ND86 and vanwag made out....if they got there.

MikJo0, I'll know on the morning of Dec 25 when I open my Christmas presents. hehe. I leave for VA on Tuesday. Can't wait to see the rest of my coin collection. Ha!
I juiced,, Dangit, i sure like the looks of those coins.. cuople of my faves right there. Looks like you had some good moving around room. The last show i went to was to had to walk around.. To much tummy tuoching when you try to sqeeze by someone walking past.. ANyhow ,,what was the asking prices on those colins if you remember?
Went in for about 45 minutes the show was preety slow at 10:30 Sat morning nothing like the Vienna show which is crowded every time I go not counting the fact they only space the aisle about 3 feet (Not much moving room). This show did have nice wide aisle which was nice. Anyway maybe I'll get a T-shirt made with COINTALK.ORG Nickelman to ware at coin shows and see if anyone here is at the shows I go to.
you know something,,thats not a bad idea,, I hope a ADMIN for this form reads that, lol. Maybe that will be the new in thing,, lol
Mike, Thank you very much, that is more then I expected can't wait to get it this will be the best christmas every. Now I fell bad about the gift I sent you thanks again and Merry Christmas Bruce "THE FRANK GROUP"
I had a great time myself! It was a little overwhelming though... SO much to look at. A great chnace to see coins in person I would never get a chance to buy... kinda like visiting a 'coin petting zoo'. Even though I had a short list of things to buy and wanted to limit myself to $50-$80, I ended up spending most of my time and money looking through one dealer's 50% off bin. Picked up a 1851 VG-F Large cent that had a nicer F-XF reverse ($11) and a 1941 AU Walker Half for $9 just cause it looked nice. As an 'Ebay-only' coin buyer I found the vast majority of coins going for higher prices than Ebay, but of course you get to actually SEE it first which is nice! Looking forward to the next show!
Nice looking show, and from the examples, there must have been some great coins there! I wish that I could have gone.
In VA now! go in about 7PM. Had some pizza from Jerry's for dinner, put my IHCs into their new Intercept Album, and got that #$#^ email from the PCGS.... Good times. Glad to be here. Already put 2 "D" quarters into circulation.
There is a pretty good show on Long Island, in Suffolk. Can you get out there? It is the second and fourth Sunday of every month. (Except that next weekend's show was moved to last Sunday, because of the holiday.) If you are interested, let me know & I'll follow up with details.
I couldn't find that through coinworld or google! If you care to see it, your welcome to bunk here with the clan. Ruben
Sure - send me the info (although as a NYer I'm really kind of anoyed that you have to go out of the city to find a regular scheduled show). Ruben
As far as I'm concerned, that's the King of coin shows. It's an annual event, every Jan. And while I truly appreciate the offer, circumstances will not permit me to attend
http://www.numismatics.org/about/Gala2007.htm This is not a show. its one of those things about New York, but these smaller venue type of things like coin shows and comicbook conventions et al just can't find a following here. They end up in the suburbs. Suburbs in NY means 70 miles in all directions.
