N.H. 2000 P quarter obverse

    I don't know if this is a weak die or doubling of sort. It is on both obverse and reverse.There is aso a die break at the "L" and inside the "R" in LIBERTY. Only obverse posted here. I will posted the reverse on a separte thread if anyone is interested.

    It looks like machine doubling and/or die deterioration to me, too!

    I can't tell from your photos if the mark extending from the "L" is raised or not. If it is raised, it would probably be a die gouge rather than a die break.

    The die break between the legs of the "R" is not an uncommon occurrence for many of the SQ's and can be found on almost any letter. Many of the fonts used were so small that it didn't take too much pounding in the coining chamber for the raised metal on the die to fail.
