Mystery Vintage Shilling Frame

    Bought this cool novelty on eBay; seems to be wall frame, Christmas ornament, etc? Enclosed is an 1839 British Shilling and the frame is wood with sterling silver or silver plated metal surrounding the frame. It is quite intriguing and neat looking and I suspect it is from the mid-1800’s; any idea what this is?
