I think this was a junk bin find. It's been bugging me because I feel like I've seen one before. With no text readable, I don't have much to go on. A search on Numista by approximate size and weight hasn't turned up anything close.

One side appears to have a sun in a wreath with a crown at 12:00.
The other has a similar pattern, but a circle inside toughing the crown and writing or a design I can't resolve. Any ID help would be humbly appreciated!

I'm just dropping these lines so I can get notified when someone responds. I don't have a clue. The little crowns at 12:00 on obverse and reverse look familiar but I'm getting no use from my memory.

Thank you! That definitely matches. I realized why my search parameters weren't getting a hit for Iran just now. I put a date range of 1500-1950, but the AH date is not converted to an AD date in the search function, so Numista treated a date of 1305 AH (1888) as outside of my parameters. I'll have to watch out for that when searching for coins possibly from the Islamic world by date.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'm happy with the coin for 10 cents in any condition.

Numista lets you search by Gregorian year as well. It's super useful for situations like this.
