Hello all, this is a coin in my inheritance that I’m not sure the origin of. I have about 30 copies of this coin.

That's a Myanmar 1 pya coin. They're not worth a ton but there is a little collector interest. All the ones I see have the same year. I'd need to check my reference book to tell you what it is but it's from either the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Edit: The post above me might be right about it being 50 pyas.

It is a 1 Pya. I was just looking at it five minutes before the OP post because I need the 1966 to complete my collection :). The Dragon/Lion with a circle is the give away.

What year would you say this is? I’ve heard 1963
thank you I did some research knowing the country now and I found this out. Glad I didn’t listen to the previous comments about it being 50 pya from 1940s to 1965 haha

You are correct, Sir! I stand corrected. Too many Numista windows open at the same time. :)

In one of the best eBay buys I ever made I got about 50 coins for a few dollars that someone inherited and about half were Myanmar coins from the 40s and 50s. I sold a few of them that were doubles for like $17 each. The price guide doesn't give a high value but it seems like they're not that common and people want them. Generally every time I find one in a junk bin it's this 1 pya coin, usually 1955.
