mysterious ancient coin..

    These pieces bear a strong resemblance to 19th and very early 20th century Hindu temple tokens. I am vague on what their exact usage was in the temple, but in China in Buddhist and Taoist temples you can buy little tokens to give as offerings at shrines in the temple.

    Yes, Indian temple token. May or may not be old.

    The side with the two figures depicts Rama & his brother Lakshman. The other side, I think, is a depiction of the monkey god Hanuman though he is most often depicted with scales so I might be wrong.

    so guys, you actually say that this coin is'nt realy coin that people used to buy things with ?
    about his rarity, is this coin is one of a kind? or there are meny like him?
    If somone think that he knows exactly how old is this coin and what was his real use please share that knoleght with me..

    It is not a coin, it cannot be used in that sense. There are many tokens with this design, both older and recently made. I do not know if yours is old or not, but most probably it is recent. Some of the respondents above have talked about the function of this piece.
