A better centred full image lion and tunny Electrum stater of Mysia. Ancient Greece.. a heavy chunky piece of history over 2000 years old.. I have previously posted and written a more detailed account of the second pictured stater.

Which do you suggest is a keeper and one to let go in future as investment?

While I prefer the top one, the usual answer when someone asks which to keep is to sell both and buy one you like.

    What if he likes both?

Actually I like both.. They both have their pros and cons like better/inferior portrait vs flan... not intending to sell one immediately but eventually one will be enough..

    For the portrait?

I'm not sure what all attracts me to it, but the details on the portrait are much sharper. It kind of looks like the lion is actively roaring, due to the additional lines by the mouth. :)

I would agree with you on the point. The portrait is sharper and complete. The only catch is the flan is inferior to the second one.. The second one has a weaker portrait but a nice flan..

I also like the top one more. Better portrait to enjoy, and the portrait seems more complete than the bottom one.

I would keep the top one because of the more complete and detailed lion/tuna. But I agree with Doug, better sell both and get one which is better

I also think the top one is a tad nicer. More details. Second ex. seems to have higher AV content.

The second one is just deeper coloured from some pic edit I did on toning and color. But the tone is the same live.. Thanks for the feedback
