The gold portion of my US Type Set is known as the "short set".
It includes ONLY designs from 1834 through 1933.
That was strictly a financial decision; earlier designs are too pricey.

The only thing stopping me from scooping up an example of this series is the small size; I fear I might lose it!

I have been threatening over the years to get some of these. I like your coins OP, especially the AUs. I like gold coins that did a little honest work for a living. Besides the $1's and 3, I probably have 4 or 5 complete gold later type sets laying in the SDB.

Nice group, they all appear to have natural color.

In a slab, they are the same size than a Morgan Dollar ;-)

Very nice :D I had a nice set of the 3 types, regretably that was one of the early selloffs and I haven't found new one i like enough to pay the asking prices :D
