I got a note from school today saying that my son AJ was confused...they were working with play paper money and gave him a $50. He told the teacher that the $50 was wrong and would not pass as real. He also told her (teacher) that it was made wrong and was missing a star. He drew this on the note....LOL I am going to 2nd grade tomorrow and explain to all the kids what a Star note is. This is priceless to me!! RickieB
that is so cool!!!! on a side note, i dont think my daughter has ever seen a $50 lol Congraqts on AJ RickieB! He will surely be one of the brightest collectors as he gets older!!!
Chip off the old block, I would say. :thumb: Good luck on your presentation tomorrow RickieB. :smile Lou
LSM is right on. Definitely a chip off the old block. The Boy knows his notes. Not to be nosy, but just what is AJ's allowance?? LOL.....................................John
... I showed my wife when she came home last night..she was cracking up as well. It was just so funny to see his little expression as he was telling me it did not have a "star" on it and it was wrong. Thanks guys, I thought it might get a chuckle from you. RickieB
Rickie, that is awesome. And it should make for an interesting and informative conversation. Bet the teacher re-assesses her original statement.
Great story Rick! Let us know how your visit to his class went. What a terrific story. Well, at least you know he is paying attention!
LOL, great story Rickie...and the perfect person to pass on your legendary NY collection too. At 2nd grade, he already knows more about paper currency than I did 2 years ago.
I do love to hear stories like this Glad to know the next generation is being trained properly!! Glad he set that teacher straight too!
Actually I am surprised he didn't stop all the action with it is the wrong president and it is missing a zero in the digit - and be from FR District #2:smile
LOL...right now he knows about "Stars" being special... He knows the Presidents up to Jackson...cuz he says WOW $20 bucks Ole Jackson! Which he has heard me say "Ole Hickory" many many times! I told him it was Grant on the $50 and he was a Cilvil War General... He say's "Silver War" wow Dad, thats old! He thinks all the Large Size are just pretty to look at! Likes the Trains and Boats on the Large Blue Seals... Man I wish he would stay 7 forever! RickieB
He really should get to know William McKinley and Grover Cleveland, believe me, my five year old daughter knows them. She doesn't own one, but she loves looking at them. She does own the oldest banknote, and the largest though.
