Several weeks ago, someone wrote that the best place to find "unsearched 'Wheaties" is at COIN COLLECTING ENTERPRISES. Unfortunately, they show that these purchases are no longer available, and they have not responded to my e-mails or phone inquiries. Would anyone know OTHER SOURCES for truly "unsearched" Wheaties? Thanks Armand
Armand, do you mean do we know of anyone who's that dumb? FWIW, I don't. In fact, if I did, nothing personal, but I'd buy them, myself. In other words, why would I tell you? All to say, you might luck out, here and there, but these are all pre-screened. When they're not, these are idiots selling these, and idiots don't stay in business. So, you take your chances, and you luck out, you luck out, and you don't, you don't. And, that's just how it is.
It would be EXTREMELY rare to find any unsearched Wheaties, and it would be more common to find someone lying about it. Chris
The problem is they were searched along the way. There was one dealer where you could get a bag for a few hundred bucks, but they were searched before he got them. When I sold what I did not want to my local shop - they just counted them and put them back in the bag. No searching - so they did not search them, but they were searched. As a matter of fact the bag had a few IHC's in them, I pulled them out and sold them separately.
Thanks Guys. I suppose that there is: no such thing as Santa Clause or an ugly baby!! The word "unsearched" has many meanings.
And you have to chuckle when you see this "Guaranteed, unsearched by me. But I have seen some keys and semi keys in these lots". Huh??? So I guess you could say that random sampling is not considered searching.
