I hate how some ebay sellers put stickers on the obverse, and THEY DONT PEEL OFF of the slab....even with slab renew. I've tried everything for some and i just have to send them to get reslabbed. /vent.
Do you mean the "KEY DATE", "RARE", "GREAT DEAL", yada, yada, yada stickers so laughably used by a few sellers. It would not surprise me if this turned off more potential buyers than it attracts. I rarely see anything special from these sellers, so it may be best to simply avoid in the future. Goo-be-gone, maybe a little acetone. Just be careful whatever you try.
Well i received the coin in a slab that had residue on the back with a couple of hairs stuck in the residue. Great coin for 30 dollars under market, but i mean dont some people take pride in what they sell? When i sell a slab on ebay, i clean it up with a microfiber, put it in a safe-t-mailer and make sure it's what i would want.
try lighter fluid or kerosene they soften most any adhesive and won't harm plastic. got hip to the kero from years in the glass business. many people tape up broken side windows with duct tape and after a while the residue is tough to clean. kero works great after a little soak. lighter fluid is close.
Acetone will "frost" you slab badly. As long as you don't get it into the seam where it might get inside, I use either Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid. Drop it on the label, let it penetrate, peel off, rub the plastic dry with a paper towel. I suspect it will take the holograph off if you get it on. If you accidently get some on it, leave it alone until it evaporates. I hope I don't have to say that it is very flammable.
