and I'm giving them their own post for several reasons. 1st, I have been pricing these for my slabbed type set... $129 for an AG02 and going rapidly upwards with grade (at least for an 1866) 2nd I agree with LordM and it does appear to be an rpd (further increasing value) so it's going in to NGC by Friday... results to follow in about 30 days lol I see no reason for it not to get a clean grade. Oh and 3rd... again a HUGE Thank You to LordM. Your "prizes" really are wonderful! and the extras ain't shabby either.. Now I took about 10 pictures of the nickle and can't get anything 1/2 as nice as LordMs pic so i will include it with my 2 best attempts (I really need to get a decent camera again lol) My pics do this coin no justice.. but then 1 shot of each side of the 5 Francs and both are near perfect... I just don't get it lol... (does the dog hair count as a photobomb?)
LOL- that came from my house. Are you sure the dog hair isn't a cat hair? Probably should DNA test it. The way it's sitting, it makes it look like there's a die break there! Be sure to tag me in a post when it comes back from NGC. I'm curious to know the outcome. I can't take credit for the photos in this particular case. Sure, I edited them with my standard "grey gradient" background, but the raw images themselves came from the original eBay listing I bought the coin from.
PS- I bought a lot that's heavy on French aluminum like that ("heavy", as in there are lots of them. The coins themselves are surprisingly lightweight, being aluminum). So a lot of folks in the future are likely gonna see things like that as their bonus items.
