Well, at least one of them. She's nothing extremely fancy or overly valuable, but I was just trying to get new pictures with my adjustable color temperature lamp to see if it made any difference. I, for one, believe it did! These colors didn't even show up (in pictures) in direct sunlight but this lamp brought them to life.

These pics were varying between 5000-6000K but I'm happy enough to finally get the color that my eyes see to show up in pictures. It's crazy what the brain does once colors get involved. But trying to capture those colors on a cellphone camera can be quite the mind grind sometimes. I might be ordering another one of these lamps and building a small blackout box in the future if I can manage to get clearer pictures on my phone. It would be far cheaper than a whole camera setup!

1894-S is a very popular date, and this coin is at least in AU58. AU58 CDNs are $750/950, so you've got a coin pretty in more ways than one. ;)

Thanks! She's a beaut (Clark) for sure but incredibly tough to photograph. There's small hints of PL surfaces, which it may have been extremely obvious at some point, but in today's time it's one of those things that's much harder to tell. And I'm torn on AU-58 or MS-61. 62 seems a bit of a stretch, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. The colors are really tough to see past, but looking at it under my scope I lean towards 61. Either way, I just wanted to finally be able to show her colors off!

If not 58, I could see a 62. Might wanna give the toned Morgan dollar GreatCollections bidders a look at it! ;)

Of all my coins, my Morgan albums will be the last to go to sale... if I have any say in it, that is. My end goal is a full album for them (minus the 1895, unless I win the lottery) and I'll only sell them off as I get upgrades for them. Which has happened a few times already actually, so it's not something impossible. Upgraded my '78-CC from about a 10 for a 63 or 64 most recently. Most likely a 63 for that one. But I've got a few toners in there so far. They're so pretty to look at, I'll have a hard time letting them go lol

There's an unfortunate small mark on the eagle's chest, but still a nice looking coin

I'm jealous. Both of those are nice AF coins. Have you looked up the VAM on the 78 CC? It has die breaks on both the obverse and reverse.

Almost forgot. Your photos are great too.

I think the lighting is creating part of the color. It does not look natural to me.

Sorry, but no chance of being uncirculated. Wear above the ear prohibits an MS grade, as well as some light wear on the reverse.

    I say AU55.

Thanks! Pretty sure the 78-CC is VAM-27, guessing LDS by the cracks. 94-S is a VAM-6, by my eye.

You very well may be correct on the grade. I'm unlikely to find out what it would grade as anytime soon though. She's staying put for a while unless I find another upgrade coin.

That's where I think it would be better to have multiple of these lamps so that I can get different angles of light and really tone down the intensity of them. The colors are there and can be seen by the naked eye in the daylight, but getting my phone to capture them is tough.
