Thanks Mat, her coins are expensive....esp. the 10 and 5 Roubles. There is also a super rare 10 Dukaten.
Woow !! Very nice "Poltina" (50 Kopecks = 1/2 Ruble) A scarce one-year type Obverse: Bust of Ekaterina II at right, lettering: ЕКАТЕРИ НА ∙ II ∙ IМП. translation: Ekaterina II - Imp. Reverse: Monogram ЕА at center, "Ekaterina Alekseevna" above this, value and date. lettering: ПОЛТИ НА· 1777, translation: Poltina 1777 Congrats for this beauty
Congratulation, beauty! Funny thing, with TPGs. I have seen Louis XIV Louis d'or graded MS-64 so badly messed up by adjustments marks (poor eye appeal), your coin looks MUCH better/ yet if got knocked down for that details. Again a MS-AV 10 Rouble goes for 25K++++euros. Your must have been very $$$$$$$/ but that is why we earn money/ to spend on nice coins....well done Heritage sold a AU-53 for 18K....
I agree....sometimes TPG grade a really beat up coin as MS but one with scratches is a 'problem' coin. I guess if the buyer is happy with the coin in hand (and I am) one shouldn't care too much about the grades I could only find pics of two of my Ekaterina II (The Great) roubles, 1764 and 1765
Awesome. You do pull out all the stop when you collect. Field is great. But not liking the brestt reduction factor. I'm going to check this coin out better.
