SM, Anyway of brightening up the pictrues? I know if they are dark coins it is hard, but I can't see a thing? Sorry.
And your Upper Canada One cent token is a Large 2. Is your coin upright on both sides? Or is one side flipped upside down?
I have one like your but mine is an 1852 and I have a larger one that's an 1857. I'll put them up later. This is the last one I got from Canada on ebay for $20 and change. One of my favs. It was listed as a Breton but I don't really know, I just liked it.
Well, the pics aren't that good as usual but I got em both. One's a penny and the other is a half penny, both Canadian and very old. The bigger one is in better condition and my guess is the most rare of the two, if there is such a thing with these common tokens from Canada. I paid around $12 for the one penny one and it was mailed to me from England, that was different. Someday I will take my time and get pics of everything. :high5: Oh that Rutherford up there is super cool!! :thumb:
Cool, that means it was minted in Heaton, as opposed to the RCM. One of my favorites Hiho, is it a medal or coinage axis?
I believe it's medal axis, but I am not 100% sure. It's currently at NGC, when I get it back I can tell you with a bit more confidence. My boss and I split an eBay (UK) lot of coins and tokens found in a secret comparment of an old desk by a London antiques dealer. Part of the lot was an 1846 Rutherford with the best looking sheep I have ever seen, absolutely no wear at all. I wish I had taken photos of it, it really knocked my socks off. This was also in the desk... and this... Yes, I am half Irish!
A couple of coins, that I bought yesterday. 1. Un sou / half penny 1837, copper, mintage - 240000. Quebec. 2. Half penny 1832, copper, mintage - 800000. Nowa Scotia. William IV the King.
Beautiful.... I really fancy this one. hiho, the Charles II, and the 1846 Newfoundland.... amazing.... The Cork Victoria one is also gorgeous... Lucky man.
