I'll start off with the best quality. This is the only note that was not in circulation. My other notes were all collected in rural villages in Zimbabwe, and Malawi, so the rest are not in very good condition and some are in terrible condition. I'm just waiting for my battery to recharge, to take more pics. I know very little about these notes so please feel free to comment, on them. Thanks.
Here's 2 more, I have a lot of notes, and new at posting pics, so please bare with me till I work out the best way.
I do like the Malawi £5 that is the 1st one of those that I have seen and also a lovely South African 1 Rand, Hope we see some more soon :hail:
Like them all - thank you for sharing!!! Especially like the last one with the Eagle on it :thumb: Best Regards ~ Darryl
Thanks USS656. Most of the notes I was offered were falling apart, I bought about 10% of the notes I saw.
Ok so some of them are not in the finest of condition but I will tell you this I would be only to happy to add them to my African collection, another I have never seen is the 10/- (ten shilling) that is super to see :thumb:
Thanks for the feed back De Orc. Which 10/- have you not seen, the Banda or queen Liz? I have quite a few more notes and will post pics of them soon. Funny thing most notes that I was offered were in shocking condition, I only purchased the better ones. In Africa most people carry their notes in their shoes for security reasons.
The Malawi one :kewl: Shame that the Southern Rhodesian is so badly damaged but the Reserve bank is rather nice
De Orc I was looking through you collection and noticed you have the same 2 Mozambeque notes, and yours both have a Banco De Mozambeque, stamp on the face, and mine don't. Do you know why ? You have a very nice collection by the way.
Mine are later overprinted issues, yours are the original issues Off the top of my head I believe it was the transitional period between Portugese rule and Indipendence.
Perhaps you should then avoid posts that are in the Paper Money section? after all no one is making you read these posts and some of us collect both coins and paper as well as checks and postal orders.
Thanks for all the feed back and info De Orc. Valid, I collected the coins and notes 15 years ago, there were, no set prices and I had to bargain for every last one. I can't remember what they cost, I didn't pay that much. I was offered a lot of coins and note I didn't buy because the seller wanted too much. I don't think it would be as easy now days as there were a few guy doing the same thing I was.
