    Interesting.. I'm not saying it's not a Lamination but, I have never seen one that looks like someone marked scratches in that area.

    It does look a little odd, but by getting this I not only can really look at the coin and try to photo it and see what is going on (it does look a bit strange in a way) I also fit in my collection, which is something I needed since I wanted to get a 3 coin type set for it and I really couldn't go MS on all of them nor was I worried about trying to match the coins in grade.

    It did clearly circulate a lot, someone may have just pried the lose part off at some point for the silver.
