I love the obverse of the Bald Eagle, but wish they hadn't recruited a starving chicken as the model for the reverse. It's a shame - if they'd bulked out the reverse eagle a bit and used up some of the excessive white space, it would be fought over every time one was offered for sale. Sheer opinion only, but I think the Challenger coin is one of the best designs the Mint has issued in the last 25 years and it's one of the Moderns that's on my "must buy someday" list. The Quarter is a very attractive coin, but the color of the Kennedy was produced in somebody's oven. Not_a_chance it's a "natural" toning pattern.
I have the 08 set too including the gold coin. Love the eagles on them. Plus they are cheaper now than when released.
I seem to remember (during contemporary times) someone mentioning something like that about the Morgan Dollar.......
Those are some very nice coins you showed. I can see you have a love for our national eagle. Thanks for sharing!!!!
