My new Stephen penny

    Superb bust, but illegible scriptions (to weak).

    A nice round flan, very close to center, and a strong portrait...its hard to get much better than you have in a Stephen penny. Very nice :hail:

    Nice and scarce coin, specially in that condition.
    Seems to be Spink 1286 variety, noted in the catalogue as with "obverse legends erased". Illegible obverse inscriptions seem thus to be the norm.

    Thanks friends!
    I am quite satisfied with this one but I am always curious about the mint and the moneyer.
    So I do think moneyer12's Stephen a very nice one for it is something easier to read the scription.
    I have two more Stephen and am very happy to share with you.
    But I don't know how to insert a pic in the reply, so I would open new threads.
