Just bought these two yesterday from the coin shop. What are your opinions of grade and value? I'll reveal later what I paid for them.
Just to bump this post: I have no clue of the grade but they are nice for sure. My guess at what you paid: Melt.
Nice SLQs! That 1921 is a key date. Your coin appears to be in VG8. That coin retails for $225, so you could probably sell it for $150-200. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1921-STANDING-LIBERTY-QUARTER-SLQ-VERY-GOOD-VG-FINE-F-TAKE-LOOK-/320777177094?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4aafcf4806 Yours has a more defined date than this one on eBay I just posted the link to. The 1918 is a nice VF coin. Retail is $30-35 for that one.
Question (I'm trying to learn) why is the 1921 listed in the Bluebook as worth more than some of the other SLQs that have similar or lower mintage numbers (1919 S, 1927 S, as examples)?
I never responded and said what I paid for those coins. I paid $150 for the 1921 and $20 for the 1918.
