France 1 Franc 1866-BB I placed a single bid on this coin days before it ended, figuring to be out bid for sure. On the final day of the auction, while I was at work, my father called to tell me that my Grandmother had passed that day. When I got home I noticed my first and only bid on the coin was the only bid and it stayed that way all the way up until the auction ended and I won this coin. I was very sad that day, but this brought me some happiness on a gloomy day and now I will not be able to part with this coin even if I find a better French coin to hold the France slot in my World Coin Collection
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. That is a neat story about the coin, its strange how some coins can become so sentimental to us when we dont even mean them to be.
