IMO calling somebody a liar because they didn't post a picture is unacceptable - even with a smiley face.

 

People kind of say that phrase jokingly in hopes that the person will post pictures so we can see. I'm sure Fall Guy doesn't really think tristen is lying.

 

People do a lot of things that they shouldn't.

"Pics or it didn't happen" is what the kids call a "meme", and what we geezers used to refer to as a "figure of speech".

It's not a literal demand, it's not a personal attack, and it's not insulting.

 

Looks like TheCoinGeezer is living up to his name. Just kidding. You really have to lighten up though. He was just kidding.

 

There are nicer ways to asks for pictures without impugning the honesty of another poster, IMO.
I don't consider the phrase in question a meme or a figure of speech, it's just downright rude. YMMV

 

You're misinterpreting the phrase. I'm not saying this to insult you or belittle you; I just mean that you aren't interpreting it the same way as the person who posted it or the rest of us who are reading it.
