The '74 is nice. Looks like all the ribbing on the "III" is complete. The Mint had trouble with that. The hard nickel alloy was giving them fits.
I'm confused? Is this a GTG? (please tell us to GTG) Is this just an addition to your set? (please give us some context about your set, where these fit in, and how these are important to you) Do you have some question? (well, what's your question?) Or are we just admiring your new purchases? (I guess, just tell us you're proud of your new purchases.... a thread with literally nothing but pictures of low grade common coins isn't going to inspire many responses) Usually a thread has some goal, purpose, question, explanation, or... something. Or at least *some* explanation besides random pictures of random coins. Tell us Something about these things. Otherwise, if you can't be bothered, I literally don't care. Cool coins, I guess, if this is just a random thread. And... I'm edited. Sorry. I have expectations from threads.
1876 three cent is a slightly better date. Even in that shape they usually sell for $50 or so, but years ago, they sold regularly for over $100!
Good Lord, you sound like my boss. I hit the like button and moved on, as in to say "I like the new pickups, but you've asked for no opinions or otherwise so I've given none"
@physics Looks like he is simply showing two acquisitions that are important to him. I've got no problem with that.
First of all I don't know what a GTG is....maybe you'll have to fill me in... Honestly I have never come across someone in this forum who is so interested in what I am doing. I tend to gravitate towards the sleepers...Coins with low mintages at affordable prices...the three cent nickel, three cent silver and seated liberty half dime all fall under this category for me. Yes...I am attempting to complete an entire set of these three series... I had started collecting the half dimes years ago but had to end up selling everything I had collected. I have been collecting coins since 1979 and have forgotten more things than I know right now. I have been a member of this forum for quite a while and I've researched and posted many things about the Seated Liberty Half Dime when I was just known as Indianhead in here. If you'd like to know more...please don't be shy
GTG is guess the grade, a fun thing we do. GTG is in the thread titles. It's fun to play along and you can learn from those threads. You should try it.
