Great looking coin with nice patina and a lot of luster. AU58?

MS 63 FH and an amazingly sharp and crisp strike.

    That's a glorious example.

I never noticed it on an SLQ before, but this particular obverse photo makes it look for all the world like they originally had a round U in TRUST, then overpunched it with a V! I think it's mostly due to the curve of the R, but now I can't unsee it...

Now you got me seeing it too, and you're right, you can't unsee it!

In January 2022 we will be consigning to Stacks/Bowers my late brother's (David Lorenzo) collection of SLQs. He basically collected nothing else his whole life. One noteworthy item is that famous cut in half SLQ error from the Cline Collection. Many FHs and some MONSTERS. John Lorenzo (Numismatist).

I have an 1929 SLQ graded MS61. I was real happy with it until I saw yours. Now I have to dig a little more to see if I can get a graded coin like yours. I have a half a dozen RAW SLQs, but nothing to write home about. Thanks for showing your SLQ.

First, I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm curious about the "cut in half" error, and I haven't had much luck Googling it. Could you say more about it?

I'd love to see a photo. Can Colonial John provide a link?

I don't care about the Grade. It is a very nice piece. I particularly love the 2nd '9' in the date. And the rivets. And the wings.

64/65 FH is just my guess as it depends on the TPG and day of the week.
Nice example of one of my favorite coin designs. Thanks for the share.
