Silvereagle, they are very nice coins. The top one reminds me of the English gold Sovereigns of Kings Henry VII & Henry VIII.The Albanian 20 Franka Ari is very attractive. Aidan.
Old or not pal - that's one I love myself :thumb: The Lion of St. Mark - just too cool for words :kewl: As for the chaise d'or - need I say more ?

The Albanian piece is wonderful. I've been trying for a while to buy a GEM example, but have been unsuccessful. Even though I've bid strong money, I keep getting outbid. I've got a set of Italian (Venice) coins going that feature the Winged Lion of St. Marks. I've been working on it for a couple of years and have maybe 40-50 examples.
The top one is a stunner. Ah Silvereagle i see you caught the medieval gold bug... eek is all i have to say! Once they get you there's no going back (theoretically), although i sold the two i had! So dunno there might be hope yet...
Alas..the corner appeared before me..I turned it to find only what I thought was an alternative route, the fork in the road is a temptation I embrace...deviation from the true path just may lead you to the enticements of the "Darkside"! Like Eve said unto Adam...Com'on Dude take a bite of this Apple! You guys are baiting the trap with really cool stuff!! I found where you purchased it from SIlverEagle...who no doubt should change your Avatar and Call Name to the "Lion of St. Marks"! In the beginning you were so full of lust for the US Metal...Oh wayward fellow..I fear it is too late for you to find the way home, so when I go on vacation I may just pay you a visit! RickieB
Great Coin.. Is that the guy from ZZ Top get on that coin?? USA, the most developed country in the world and we have the ugliest coins in circulation right now.
I love the top example. That's absolutely beautiful! You guys may turn me yet if we keep this up. Of course, the Albanian coin is pretty cool too!
I would love to own something like those they are without a doubt stunning and thank you for sharing them with us :thumb: :thumb: De Orc
I've gone off gold coins and will probably end up disposing of the few that I do have (i've been saying that for about a year now!), but I must say that these two are VERY nice...... especially the first one. Ian
