I recently ordered an 1861 Restrike of a Double Eagle with the Conferate Mock Up Reverse. The image is of the Brass issue - which was sold out when I inquired. Dan Carr mentioned he was having a very limited issue of .999 Fine Gold One Troy Ounce striking of this design. I can't go wrong with that, I thought. I'm also having it encapsulated in an ANACS holder as well. Dan is not too far away from ANACS, so I thought that was a perfect fit. My coin will have a plain edge, but stamped " .999 Fine Gold - One Troy Oz. " There is also an overstrike on a Type One Double Eagle for $250 over the cost of the host coin.
