    Here is the ancient one, its a horrible strike due to either incompetent mint employees/ or they just did not care, since the Byzantine "Empire" was confined to the walled City of Constantinople, and surrounded by the Ottoman Turks.

    From Heritage (first time I have seen a so-called MS example) :stop:

    Andronicus II 1282-1328 (type with Emperor kneeling/ being blessed by Christ)

    There are hundreds of these up for auction, most are terrible quality/ this one was better then most, with no splits in flan.
