I received a Christmas present from my mother that is 16 years overdue. In Dec. 2009 my mom and dad flew out to San Francisco to visit some of our west coast family. My mother said my dad purchased a District of Columbia and US Territories set from a shop not far from “the Granite Lady”. She stated he was going to give it to me that Christmas. He put it away for safe keeping but unfortunately forgot where he hid it. So for Christmas 2009 I got a nice Buck pocketknife (which I still have). Fast forward to this year. My mother was replacing the upholstery on the piano bench and the mint set was tucked in with the sheet music in the piano seat. My dad passed away in 2013, so the sentimental value of belatedly receiving this mint set far out ways its monetary or intrinsic value. To all of the CT members, have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Great story my father in law passed about 6 years ago and a lot of his bedroom stuff got put into storage when cleaning out two years later we had found envelope taped to the underside of one of the drawers with over $1,000 in $2 bills, I guess one day he though they might be worth something...
