A while back I posted about a new coin shop that had opened by my work. I tried to find out what their prices were for junk silver and the guy was very shady and wouldn't tell me on the phone. It really put me off, but I gave him another chance and went into the store to look around. Again the guy was not nice, and not willing to give me straight prices or even straight answers. I was very put-off so I left and vowed never to return. My instinct told me that I didn't want to deal with this guy. I was reading the paper today and this same guy was just arrested for buying stolen handguns from an informant. I also found out that in the past he had been convicted of selling fake sports memorabilia and coins on eBay. Glad he was caught, and I'm glad I didn't have any dealings with him. This just goes to show that not all dealers are created equal, and trust your instincts.
I remember your story about this. I'm glad you were able to pick up that "fishy" smell when you first talked to him. I'm always happy to hear when a guy like that gets caught. Thanks for the news!
Thanks for sharing your experience and what happened with the guy. It's too bad that there are shady characters out there.
