I am almost finished updating and phasing out the old scanner photos in my FORVM Ancient Coins gallery. It's been a lot of work but I don't mind because I've been practicing shooting coins. What a trial that's been and if you had seen the first few shots, you may agree I improved some. lol I have two pages of categories at my gallery, sectioned off into regions and timelines. Most of the sections are Roman Imperial coins. Each category has a short explanation about coins and some history. This gallery is still a work in progress but it's getting close to being finished and will only require me to add new coins and make edits to existing information. I hope you enjoy looking through the gallery if you so choose. Thank you. http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/index.php?cat=31399&page=1
Thanks for the comments, guys. Yeah, I try to collect a little of everything I can afford. Roman Imperials being my favorite so far.
Well played, Daryl ... man, you have some very sweet coins, eh? I absolutely love the way that you've broken-down your total collection into "sub-groups" (associated with the different coin-periods) ... sweet format, my friend!! ... ummm, but then as I was wandering through your amazing gallery, I noticed that within the sub-groups, you'd decided to go alphabetically, rather than chronologically ... curious, is that what everybody else does at that high-brow Forum site? (yes, yours is the first collection that I've had the pleasure of visiting) => Well done (full-points, Champ!!)
That's an impressive collection, and nicely organized. The new images are so much better than the old scans. Well-done sir!
Yeah, that's just how the coins are organized within each category, by alphabetical order. It's done by the software for the gallery, not by me. I don't know how other people organize their galleries there but I seem to have more detail in the categories than most people there. It's nearly the same as the old CCF photo galleries. I had one there but it was full of scanner photos and it's organized in a similar manner but this one at FORVM is more organized. Thank you so much, JA. I even like it myself, a lot better. It sucked even to me when I had those scanner photos. Now other people and myself get to see my coins as they are supposed to. True, a lot of my coins are low grade but even those look better now.
My gallery is organized by RIC volume numbers, and other folders for other categories. It's fun to sometimes just sit back and browse your own collection, if for no other reason than to remember which coins you actually have.
It's definitely fun to look at my coins in my gallery from time to time and also to look at the coins I have in my binder. With the photos I can see the smaller coins a little better. Yeah, I don't doubt there is more than one way to organize your coins. By RIC number is good. I decided that by alphabetical order is fine for now.
