Always wanted one of these, finally pulled the trigger In tonights great collections auction . Common date, au58, looks like a nice example. What do you think? 203012409.jpg

Jeez, my first was worn slick

    Very attractive quarter.

This is why there's plenty of room for improvement in my grading skills. When I first saw your coin, I thought it was MS for sure. Very strikingly beautiful.

Very nice example in great condition. I have two that are worn slick, haha.

If you sent this coin to the TPGs, I think it would come back low MS half the time, so I would be too hard on yourself if I were you.

I think it's lovely, and the TrueView images are a plus.

I'm a big fan of AU-58 coins. Much of the time they look better than MS-60-62 coins. Pretty AU-58's with nice surfaces will sell for more than lower grade MS coins.

Too many folks are just looking at the grade on the plastic. Pretty coins are easy to sell, ugly is a different story.

Here's mine its been in my family for a long time including the 2×2 which feels like sandpaper and three of the staples are rusted up.The $3.00 thing was not me and my grandfather probably wrote the date e.t.c. also. 20210329_103143.jpg 20210329_103129.jpg

That is a nice example in the AU-58 grade. I’ve seen lesser pieces pushed as Mint State coins.

You're not alone. For me, SLQs are among the tougher coins to grade.

It's definitely a beautiful coin. A great majority of them are worn and not very attractive, yours is great. Thanks for sharing.

Is it the rareness or the style of the SLQ that so many are in collections? I have two SLQs... 1918 and 1929. Neither are graded. I did splurge on the 2016 W Gold SLQ. It is beautiful. The only problem is that since it is gold, it is stored in a very safe place and I can only get to look at it when I visit my bank.
