Well just got home from long beach and had a great time. Picked up a 1999 silver proof set as well as a 2001 silver to bring me up to date in my silver quarter collection. Learned alot and met a few people. Overall it was a good day!(hell even the old lady had a good time, which is rarer than most key date coins) :thumb:
Shows are always a good time. Whatever family member I drag along with me always seems to have a good time.
I hauled my wife to a show that she thought she wouldn't enjoy. She spent half the time at one guy's table learning about banknotes, serial numbers, confederate currency, etc... We left the show with her telling me stuff that I didn't even know.
What saved me was all the jewelry they had there! I didn't know there'd be anything like that there so when we got there and I saw the first booth with cases of diamond rings I knew that A:the old lady's mood would improve and B:my first show was gonna a little more expensive then I had planned. But even still that was cool!(who ever started that whole"love is free" saying need's to be brought up to date for sure) :rolling:!!
congrats on your first show ... are you able to focus clearly yet? or is it all just still a 'glaze'?
I LOVE coin shows. Being a YN, i always get great deals. My first show was one with 13 tables, and i spent 5 hours there. The last show i went to had 70 tables, and i spent an hour and a half =P. The first show is so much fun to go to, and i wanted to make sure i saw everything =P
