Well, That I saw anyway. Was at the Long Beach show as many of you know and saw my first SGS slab in the flesh. Wow, was I excited! This confirmed that Long Beach was the place to be OK, I'm being facetious here. I did see an SGS Proof70 Franklin in a box of miscellaneous slabs. It was a decent coin but by no means PF70 and what a cheesy little holder. In the same box I saw some ACG garbage and a Blanchard. The guy had a lot of nice stuff too. I seriously considered buying his NGC MS67 1940 Washington quarter but a phone call to the boss back home made me change my mind. Should have bought the SGS though!
You actually ask the boss before you buy? You are well trained . I tell her afterwards, thence she can buy an equivalent amount of stuff. I don't get in trouble with the boss anymore. I just let her get even.
Well never know on the 40 Washington, NGC 67 @$350.... DJ seems to be the Washy guy here, I bet he'd know if you passed up a deal or not. Even generic NGC 67, I'd imagine he'd have an idea of what an Ebay bidders war would bring, actual grade aside. Me? I'm too chicken to gamble unless I have a pretty good idea of the outcome. Might want to pm Dj with that one Dan
For the record guys I rule my house with an iron fist! (In my mind). Wife doesn't make coin decisions I do. Just do them so I won't get in trouble. I called the boss at the coin shop on this one. The spread between buy and offer was about $700 bucks. I was only intending to turn the coin and not willing to take the risk with that big of a spread. clembo
Was it a real SGS Did it have a hair in it, I think thats their way to let you know if its really a high qually (and real) SGS slab
