Here is my question, I have a 1973 lincoln cent that shows little to NO wear. Both the obv. and rev. show super detail. yet, the 73 is bold and clear while the 19 is barely viss.??? I have looked at the coin REAL close and there are NO signs of wear / tampering with the #'s. you could see 1973 but the 19 is like not even there.
Is this a known error? Or just one of those you got to see to believe? Is there a way to upload a pic of it ?
Wait that was three Q's not 1. :D

I would say grease filled die.....the value isn't really anything but you might get a few cents overface since it covers over part of the date.

Thanks for the reply and, is this common? First time I have seen half the date missing.

Its not common...but not rare either....they just aren't collected much.
