My First Photo nothing exciting

The copy stand did the trick!

 

Well there you go! Lets gets some lighting on it and you're on your way. Another cheap hint, for circulated copper a plain old incandescent desk lamp works pretty well.

 

The best lighting you can get is daylight in your window

This is a daylight, on a windowsill with a small canon camera

Did the same thing with my dime collection. I used a flashlight, but it was almost too much light.
