I've gotten them for other people in my group subs, but this is my first STAR graded coin...

    Guess the grade!

This is my series. Without looking at the other guesses, I will 67*.

Toning is attractive, fields are immaculate. There’s a tiny hit on Liberty’s hair braid, a tick by the 2, a tick above the “O” in OF, but very minor. This is a beauty.

Standing by for @physics-fan3.14 to chine in.

VERY mark-free, decent non-FB strike, can't make out the luster - MS66*. If it swirls nice when moved, maybe 67*.

It's hard to read the luster on this one. The surfaces look nearly immaculate. If the luster is booming I can see a 67★.

The luster looks flat and subdued to me, which is why I guessed 63 star.

65, I agree that a better feel for the luster could move my guess.

I’m guessing it is booming in hand. Luster on Mercs can sometimes be hard to capture. All I know is I’m drooling.

Your pictures have way too much direct incident lighting. I can’t tell luster or number of hits. It looks pretty clean though.

I’ll go with MS-65* because I sent a nicer one to PCGS and only got an MS-65

The coin is pretty clean but it is very difficult to judge the luster based on your photos. What I remember most about collecting high grade mint state Mercury Dimes was that both NGC & PCGS were sticklers for booming luster for the premium gem grades. NGC seemed lax in their older slabs, but when I was submitting they were tough on toned coins with muted luster.

For that reason, I am guessing MS65*.

This is precisely why I gave my qualifier in my guess. I'm reading the images as very indirect light which is why I don't see the luster that I would expect. If the luster is not there, then I would be at no higher than MS-65★.

I see some die polish lines on the obverse.
