My first LMC error post. Strike through?

    20180915_181443-1.jpg 20180915_181553-1.jpg 20180915_182322-1.jpg Reverse- The fields on either side of the incuse mark are flush with each other so I have ruled out glue. What do you think?

    Obverse- the event around the rim is incuse so is it ED or possibly a mint error?

    Thanks for any help and opinions.

    Looks more like damage to me than a strike through.

    It could be a defective planchet but both sides? I'm more PMD. Hard to tell from the photos.

    This is purely for my own education. I know it has no value, just curious. If the reverse was damaged by scratching or something smashed into it wouldn't there be some metal moved around making a curb or something?

    I do believe I've argued this before in one of my previous posts on a 1982 cent! Let's see if we can get @Fred Weinberg to elaborate?

    Might want to go easy on the tags there Newbie. We don't need to bother the big dogs with every minor error like this. Do you have pics of your coin so I can see?
