First coin purchase new year as well as my first lion daalder. I have waited long to find a daalder with significant portion of design intact for a fair price. This was purchased at Heritage auctions for $211 including buyer's fees. This one is from dutch province of Overyssel/Overijssel.

A nice write up about Lion Dallders, http://www.coinweek.com/world-coins/world-coins-dutch-lion-daalders-americas-first-dollar/

    Heritage description ,
Overyssel. Provincial Lion Daalder 1616 VF35 NGC, KM12, Dav-4860. Lion Daalders from Overyssel are somewhat scarce. This problem free coin might just be missing from many collections.

Doppletaler, you have a good eye for hansom crowns. As you said, daalders are very hard to find with anything near full strikes. I particularly focus on the knight's face -- so many others show very little detail. My one and only daalder is almost fully struck, with a very clear face but it came from a shipwreck so it's not a straight grade.
